Who says holidays only happen on the big, official days? Crosley—our favorite red crocodile, dessert connoisseur, and certified Night Buddy—thinks every day deserves a little celebration, especially if it involves mismatched shoes, trees, or snacks.

So, in honor of May, Crosley has handpicked his favorite weird and wonderful holidays to help you turn an ordinary month into a full-on adventure. Bonus points if you celebrate any of them in a red jumpsuit.

May 3 – National Two Different Colored Shoes Day

“Fashion is all about balance. That’s why I wear a red shoe on one foot and a more red shoe on the other.” –Crosley (probably). Today’s the perfect excuse to get wild with your wardrobe. Encourage kids to wear the most mismatched shoes they can find—just like a true Night Buddy might on a mission!

Activity idea: Make it a “Dress Like a Night Buddy” day. Think bold colors, fun patterns, and maybe even a homemade badge for your next top-secret assignment.

May 4 – Star Wars Day & National Orange Juice Day

“May the sauce be with you… especially iifit’sson a cheesecake” –Crosley

Okay, CrCrosley isn’t a Jedi; he’s more of a dessert knight, but he’d love a good galactic crossover. Bonus: Orange juice is his second-favorite breakfast drink—right after cheesecake smoothies.

Writing prompt: What if Crosley went to space on a cheesecake-fueled rocket? What planet would he land on? Who would he meet?

May 15 – National Chocolate Chip Day

“Cheesecake is king, but chocolate chips are like the tiny jewels of dessert” Crosley. Today’s about baking, snacking, and maybe even inventing your own treat. Crosley recommends topping cheesecake with chocolate chips and sprinkles—go big or go home.

Challenge: Invent a brand-new dessert for Crosley to try and give it a wild name (like “The Cheesecake Volcano Surprise”).

May 16 – National Love a Tree Day

Trees are important. Without trees, where would we hang our Night Buddies hammocks?” –Crosley (again)

Celebrate this earthy day by getting outside and showing some love to your leafy friends. You can hug them, draw them, or write a poem from a tree’s point of view.

Mini Mission: Go on a backyard or park tree walk and find one to name after Crosley.

May 20 – National Be a Millionaire Day

“If I had a million bucks, I’d buy a floating cheesecake island, a Night Buddies jet, and a backup red jumpsuit… or ten” -Crosley.

Dream big today! Kids can imagine what they’d do with a million dollars—Night Buddies edition.

Writing prompt: What would Crosley buy first if he suddenly became a millionaire? What would YOU buy if you were a Night Buddy agent?

May 26 – National Blueberry Cheesecake Day

“Excuse me, is this an emergency? Because I just found out it’s Blueberry Cheesecake Day,” –You’ll never guess who said this one.

This one’s real, folks. Crosley has mixed feelings; he’s loyal to pineapple, but he’s also willing to try new things. Maybe.

Activity: Have a cheesecake taste test! Try different flavors or draw your dream cheesecake—no flavor is too weird.

May 27 – National Nothing to Do Day.

There’s always something to do. Like invent a dance called the Crocodile Wiggle or sneak into the kitchen undetected. –The Cros

Even on a do-nothing day, Crosley finds adventure. Encourage kids to embrace boredom as the launchpad for imagination.

Try this: Invent a new holiday with Crosley! Give it a name, a signature snack, and one weird tradition.

BONUS: Make-Your-Own Crosley Holiday (Any Day Works!)

“I“hereby declare today Cheesecake-and-Read-in-a-Fort Day. Official Night Buddies holiday. YoYou’reelcome,” ”Crosley

Every Night Buddy needs a made-up holiday of their own. Kids can create one with:

  • A name

  • A reason for celebrating

  • A silly tradition

  • A must-have dessert

Every Day is Worth Celebrating (Especially with Crosley)

May is full of sunshine, surprises, and silly reasons to celebrate. Whether you’re planting a tree, designing a new cheesecake, or wearing mismatched socks just because you’re living the Night Buddies life: curious, courageous, and always up for a little fun.

So grab your calendar, your sidekick, and a fork. Crosley’s ready to celebrate.
