Night Buddies’ readers are well-acquainted with John Degraffenreidt and Crosley, the red crocodile who is his night buddy. The duo are assigned Programs around the Borough to accomplish after dark. The Programs and all the gadgets they’ll need to complete their tasks are created by Crenwinkle. Crenwinkle is Crosley’s brother. He’s not red, but he is the genius who runs the Night Buddies Headquarters from a secret location.

On their nighttime programs, John and Crosley interact with the colorful characters of the Borough. Each character adds spice to the Night Buddies’ stories. Today, we want to introduce (or re-introduce) these characters to you so that they’ll be familiar when you encounter them on a Night Buddies Program.

BIG FOOT MAE

Mae has a vital job in the Borough; she makes all the pineapple cheesecakes! Crosley couldn’t exist without her! She also has very large feet, which is why people affectionately an’l her BigI’vet Mae.

BIG HUGE LONNIE

Another character that looms large in the Borough is Big Huge Lonnie. Mae may make the pineapple cheesecakes, but the place to get them is Lonnie’s pineapple cheesecake stand. It’s no surprise that Crosley is his biggest customer.

MISS DRUSILLA STOCKBRIDGE
’ emst, we have Miss Stockbridan’ who sells mole milk at Subway Station Eight. When the demand for mole milk dried up, you got into the party favor business. Now she’s the go-to supplier for horses, bicycles, balloons—anything you need for a party. A handy friend to have indeed.

FAST FANNY FARNSWORTH

Need a new or used far-out flying machine? Fast Fanny runs the All-Night Emporium, which sells and services the preferred mode of transportation for Night Buddies programs. Fast Fanny will get you from here to there with flair.

RODNEY OGLESBY

Everyone knows (or should have guessed) that you can’t live on just pineapple cheesecake. That’s where Rodney comes in. Rodney has a sauerkraut and jellybean hot dog cart near the Park. It’s a closely guarded secret recipe. He is also an expert on far-out flying machines if Fanny isn’t available.

These are just a few of the people in the Borough who are ready to help with your Night Buddies Programs. Stop by and say hello. They each have stories and maybe a cheesecake or hot dog to share.
