In the world of Night Buddies, flying machines, racing blimps, and high-speed adventures are just another part of the job. Whether it’s escaping the Pineapple Cheesecake Factory or outmaneuvering the Iguana Gang, Crosley and John are always up in the air on a new mission.

This week, we challenge YOU to create your own flying machine, just like a real Night Buddies inventor!

Step 1: Choose Your Mission

Every flying machine needs a purpose. What’s your adventure?

  • Escape from the Pineapple Cheesecake Factory

  • Win the Annual Sky Blimp Grand Prix

  • Spy on the Iguana Gang’s hideout

  • Deliver a secret message to Crenwinkle

Write your mission down. Bonus points if you give your machine a cool name!

Step 2: Gather Your Supplies

You don’t need Crenwinkle’s lab to build a flying machine. Just start with:

  • Paper towel or toilet paper rolls

  • Balloons

  • Straws, string, and rubber bands

  • Paper, cardboard, popsicle sticks

  • Tape, glue, scissors

  • Crayons, markers, paint, stickers

Optional: LEGO pieces, plastic cups, old packaging, bottle caps—anything you can imagine!

Step 3: Design & Build

Draw your design first—engineers always sketch their ideas! Then build it using your supplies. Need help getting started? Here are some awesome videos that show different ways to make flying machines at home:

📺 Flying Machine Craft for Kids – A fun, simple project using paper and tape. Great for younger inventors!

📺 Paper Popsicle Stick Flying Machine – Use popsicle sticks and paper to create a cool glider.

📺 Da Vinci-Inspired Flying Machine – A creative and historical twist for older kids and curious minds.

📺 Easy Paper Flying Machine – Quick, colorful, and great for testing how far your craft can fly!

Step 4: Time to Test

Want to see your flying machine in action? Try one of these:

  • Run a string across the room and race balloon-powered machines

  • Toss your paper glider and see how far it goes

  • Time your blimp to see how long it stays in the air

  • Compete with friends for the longest flight, coolest design, or fastest mission

Step 5: Share Your Invention

Ask a grown-up to snap a photo of your flying machine and share it with us. We’d love to see your creations—and you might even inspire a new Night Buddies adventure!

Let your imagination fly—literally. Who knows? Maybe your invention will be the next thing Crosley takes on a nighttime mission!
