What Night Buddies book did you read first? It really doesn’t matter, because once you read one, you’ll want to gormandize* all four books just as fast as you can!
Before the newest Night Buddies adventure is released, we thought we’d give you the skinny on all of John and Crosley’s adventures so far.
Book 1: Night Buddies and the Pineapple Cheesecake Factory
This is where it all started. When pineapple cheesecakes start disappearing from the world’s only Pineapple Cheesecake Factory, Crosley, a zany red crocodile, enlists the help of young John Degraffenreidt to straighten things out. The unlikely pair sneaks out of John’s house on their first Night Buddies Program. (That’s Night Buddies speak for adventure.) On the way to the subway, they get better acquainted, and John finds out the wacky reason Crosley is red and what happens if he gets any water on him. They take the Night Folks Limited train to the Cheesecake Factory, where they meet the giant manager, Big Foot Mae. Can the Night Buddies save the world’s supply of pineapple cheesecakes?
Book 2: Night Buddies, Imposters, and One Far-Out Flying Machine
Red crocodiles are popping up all over the city, creating confusion and committing crimes. Crosley, the OG red crocodile, goes crazy each time he sees an imposter. They must be stopped, and the Night Buddies are on the case.
Stakeouts and wild chases in a fantastic flying machine, far-out schemes to snare the imposters, and a never-ending supply of Crusted Crème Fro-Madge frozen yogurt make for one totally super night.
Book 3: Night Buddies Go Sky High
When John and Crosley show up at the Pineapple Cheesecake Factory, they find Big Foot Mae lying on the floor, staring up at her Great Star Puzzle on the ceiling. Crosley only wants a new supply of pineapple cheesecakes, but what Mae points to on her ceiling will start the Night Buddies on a new Program.
A suspicious white dot has passed through the Corkscrew Constellation and is now moving underneath the Hound Dog Stars. Across the Borough, Crosley’s brother Crenwinkle sees the same curious speck in the sky. It looks to be a long night for sleepyhead John, but thanks to the time spreader dingus with its sleep-retardant setting, he gets right into their next escapade. This time adventure takes them all the way into the stratosphere.
Book 4: Night Buddies and Evil School Bus (Coming Soon!)
The iguanas are back and up to their stinky shenanigans. John and Crosley must sniff out their evil plans. When the iguana gang shows up in their evil school bus, the city is afraid of being slimed with green paint. The Night Buddies must track the iguanas down and figure out what fuels their evil school bus and dastardly plans.
*Gormandize is a word John made up to describe how Crosley scarfs down Fro-Madges and Pineapple Cheesecakes. You can read about it in Book 4.
